Jason's amputation of his right arm was caused by a fork lift truck approaching Jason at speed. He lifted his arm to raise the alarm but the driver did not see him, crushed his arm and lifting him off the ground. After eighteen months and many operations it was decided that the arm could not be saved so it was amputated, and a metal plate put into his shoulder. He maintains that this was the best thing to have happened since his accident as his life started to move forward.

A family man at heart, Jason loves football and shooting (only pellets). His biggest interest is teaching young people between the ages of 5 years and 16 years football. He is now a F.A. level 2 Football Coach where he coaches at local schools and is also the Head Coach for a local youth and junior football club. Jason's approach is to educate the children into understanding that people with disabilities can still be approached and are still able to do things but in a different way.
