Dave had a serious road traffic accident in 1985 and after five years he had his leg amputated below the knee. Davie had left the army but decided to re-join, which he was about to do just before the accident.

His main interest is golf, participating in the Amputee Championships, but has a keen interest is all sports. Dave continues to support his old battalion by organising reunions, functions and is webmaster to their site: www.23bty.co.uk
