Ian was found collapsed at home in December 2005 and rushed to hospital. Due to the illness, which caused him to collapse, he had to have both legs amputated.
Having both legs amputated has not stopped Ian from pursuing his sporting interests. His main sport is fencing in epee, sabre and foil which he has fenced for GB in Paris. Ian also participates in archery and shooting. No challenge is too much for Ian - he enjoys walking even without his prosthetics. The more gentler pursuits are cooking and computing. He is hoping to resume golf but his main ambition is to do parachuting, which is currently being organised. |
